Peace, Love, and Heart Glimmers to You!

day 73…have yourself some pi

Happy Pi Day!

It’s Pi day and you know what that means! I get to write a poem based on the pi number sequence. You can do that a number of ways…by correlating the numbers in the sequence by syllables or by the number of words per line. It can be as short or long as you like. Typically I use the first whole number of the sequence (3) for the title line.

pi = 3.1415926535 8979323846 as the inspiration for today’s poem

Peace, love, and glimmers to you! I promise, there’s a glimmer at the end of today’s poem! March On!

we forgot
.
when
it first started,
when
they crashed the party…
we laughed then, but it’s not funny now
funny
if only we had known,
paid more attention
to the signs…
it might have saved us

how blissfully ignorant
of us to assume benevolence
from a vile, psychopathic,
felonious, predatory cheat
who never
cared for
anyone
not even those who kiss his ring
it’s not over
we decide how this ends

day 70

Wow…I don’t know if the turkey hens were impressed by this display, but I certainly was, as these Toms strutted their stuff in spectacular fashion! I had just stepped away from my desk for a short break to make a cup of tea …just in time to witness the spring Turkey trot right outside my window.

It feels like spring now. What an amazing glimmer to start my day! I’m so glad I had my phone close by so I could take photos of this annual ritual to share with you.

Meanwhile, the world continued on its chaotic roll today, but there is one thing I know…our leaders cannot cancel spring!

Peace, Amoré ❤️🌹❤️ and glimmers to you!

a small, significant consolation

at least they cannot cancel spring
as they dismantle everything
healthcare, justice, who needs those
education…that’s got to go
America now has a king

he’s on a binge of firing
while dancing on a puppet string
vile dictators, his band of bros
at least they cannot cancel spring

trees alive with songbirds singing
longer days, blue sky, sun shining
rain-drenched earth where seedlings grow
whatever happens, we can know
nature keeps the world spinning
at least they cannot cancel spring

day 69

almost spring

spring is springing
bud-bursts dot the towering trees
spring is springing
morning breaks with songbirds singing
the scent of greening on the breeze
filling our hearts with joie de vivre
spring is springing

~kat

Happy almost spring to you! There are glimmers everywhere…especially now that spring is in the wings! For today, I am happy to ignore the spin and chaos and just enjoy the beauty of the season. Soon the hills will be covered in green dotted with bright perennials, and the trees will burst with leaves just in time to shelter nesters and fledglings. And the doe will be fawning… I wonder if we’ll have a set of twins or triplets wandering through as we have in years passed?! Even in the midst of dreadful daily news spring gives us so much look forward to in gratitude!

Peace, love and spring glimmers to you!

day 68

✨💚Revisiting this lovely photo for today. 💚✨

This past week we celebrated “March 4th or “Forth” if you will…as we headed into International Womens’ Day weekend, capping things off with daylight savings time with a reminder to “Spring Forward”! I’m sensing a theme here. Living in the moment has not served me well lately with so much chaos swirling about, but taking a moment to think about the world that could be, that we collectively could usher in, well, that gives me hope!

just imagine…

imagine a world
where kindness is currency
where justice is a birthright
where peace is a state of being

imagine a world
where creativity is encouraged
where diversity is celebrated
where leaders serve the people

imagine a world
where nature is protected
where all life is respected
where wisdom is heeded

imagine a world
where all work is valued
where everyone is cared for
where bellies are full

it may seems silly
to dream of what could be
but each person holds the key
to making dreams a reality

imagine yourself
offering kindness to a stranger
standing up for a victim
being empathetic, slow to anger

imagine yourself
appreciating the beauty around you
including the outsider in community
stepping up to serve others

Imagine yourself
leaving a small footprint
giving up your seat to someone
learning from mistakes and doing better

imagine yourself
saying thank you
checking in on a neighbor
paying it forward to someone in need

it’s not so silly after all…
if we can imagine it,
we can do it
we can be it

Peace, Love, and Glimmers of Dreams in the Making to You!
