day 319

wild flowers

there rose up a murmur
deep and dark, a secret
grown cold too long from
the sweetest of blossoms
who never bloomed…it is
a soulless world watches
them wither, refusing to listen

Decades…decades of silent suffering. It’s time to listen to the voices of grown children, robbed of their innocence by monsters still lurking in broad daylight. No amount of redaction can shield them from the power of truth.

It has taken me a bit of time to speak of this horror evolving before our eyes. My heart breaks for the women…for children they never were.

They are not gods who rape and pillage innocence for pleasure. They are demons. May we finally see them for what they are and hold them all accountable for the atrocities they have inflicted.

Much love, peace, and glimmers my friends. Pulled this one from the archives to help us remember what flowers do best when allowed to thrive….

day 294

asking for a friend

dear god,
I get it
I do…but
I was so hoping
the rapture was
a thing … … I waited
all day, but they are
STILL HERE!

Magnetic Poetry and Glimmers…

touched

peaceful rivers bloom
into a thousand stars
light dancing with the wind

day 281…fell asleep

I promise I got this one in under the wire (midnight), but I fell asleep. Long stressful day. I’m sure I needed the rest more than meeting my self-imposed deadline! At any rate here is yesterday’s poem written in Magnetic Poetry form (the Love Kit) online.

last dance

when the dance comes
to an end and the music
fades, please promise me
you will be by my side,
the two of us together
in the quiet hours of the night
remembering the light

~kat

Today’s glimmer actually just happened. My wife volunteers at a wildlife rescue nearby. She has spent a few months nurturing baby squirrels, who, for whatever reason, found themselves abandoned. She bottle fed them until they were big enough to move to an outdoor habitat to learn foraging skills. And today, five of those little angels graduated back into the wild right here on Bramlett mountain. Run free little ones, enjoy the hickory nuts from our trees. Welcome home!🥰

much love, peace, glimmers, and happy trails!

day 248

falling

the wild blossoms
are fading softly
every bough grows
less green…leaves
falling gently to earth
oh season of summer ending
teach me how to let go

~kat

Every year during this season of transition I marvel at the grace that is on display. Lessons of accepting change, of gratefulness for a fruitful harvest, and most poignant the older I get, the beauty of letting go. I’ve been letting go for several years now…wishing my children well as they leave home to build lives of their own…losing grandparents, parents and other family members, and now friends to the great unknown,,, escorting many loyal animal companions to the rainbow’s end…downsizing to accessible, manageable housing, to spare my children the burden of disposing of my junk when I’m gone…and all this I believe has softened me for the ultimate letting go. I’d like to believe that all this practice will make it an easy gentle passing. Life lived full in the blink of an eye. But I can’t say I won’t miss being here. Every scrumptious, magnificently beautiful moment has been a privilege, causing me these days to savor every bit of it!

Much love, peace, and glimmers to you. Enjoy the ride!
