shock and awfulness
gawkers flock like moths to flame
snoops looking for blood

savor each moment’s bliss
dawn’s sparkling threads of light
buds with dewdrops clinging
fluttering wings in flight
fragrant breezes, warblers trilling
savor each moment’s bliss
cups of tea, honey sweet
sleepy morning sighs
ling’ring between cool sheets
pale cerulean skies
savor each moment’s bliss
acts of random kindness
miracles in the wings
havens from the madness
important things, not things
savor each moment’s bliss
such beauty all around
breath of heaven hov’ring
the blessings to be found
moments spent discov’ring

tight fisted hoarders
never contented
they barter their souls
for pieces of gold
“more” is their mantra
with hearts black as coal
