late summer tutelage

Let’s start with the good stuff…glimmers of course! ✨🌿✨

late summer tutelage

Sometimes
it takes a tempest,
a tree-downing, blackout-inducing,
earth saturating deluge,
with a distinct possibility of flooding, especially in low-lying areas,
to cool the unrelenting
red hot wave of summer…
cool mornings like this
remind us the fall is coming
with its ruddy blush, smoky
cinnamon-laced lessons of letting go
the wilted remnants
of the past season under
skies so cloudless, crystalline blue
peering through a lattice
of transparency so stark, it challenges
us to believe that even we,
after a brief slumber,
may emerge anew with a clean slate,
even we can shed what no longer serves us
and begin again.
