day 58 ~ new moon in Pisces

So…tonight is a new moon. In Pisces specifically…my moon sign…and to my surprise, (why am I surprised) this little nudge popped up in my Facebook feed inviting me to participate in a “then and now” challenge. Here’s what I posted…

then…and now

a generation
only lasts a short lifetime
dreams of youth pending

…love, peace, and glimmers to you, in authenticity and truth always and all ways…

day 57

finding the perfect ending

I’m long past the old standard, sincerely
sincerely yours is dated, flat,
for a time i’d settled on best wishes
then best regards, after all I supposed
they mean the same thing,
though nuanced variations can shift
sentiments however slightly
kind or warm regards…not feeling it
a simple regards or best…a bit lazy
all the best, is a bit too much, rather subjective…whose best or what best
best in any variation is awkward at best
it does not convey warmth or cordiality
it’s a quandary I’ve wrestled with
how to end a general business email note
Respectfully, Faithfully, Yours truly,
or Truly yours imply too much warmth,
a bit too intimate for my taste…*sigh*
thank goodness for electronic signatures
all business, no parting sentiment needed
simply a pre-formatted formal
name, title, and contact details
only my truest, dearest friends know me as Kat
kind, warm, best, and true goes without saying

Random thoughts for today. This is the sort of thing that keeps me up at night. Silly me. Writing about it gets it out of my head and settles things once and for all.

The truth is, it doesn’t matter. And finally realizing that glimmer of truth is one more step toward liberation. Many of us start our adult life believing that so many things matter. But as we get older, and hopefully wiser, we realize that the only things that really matter are love, authenticity, and truth. This little exercise of random thinking out loud this has made me feel lighter and brighter. ✨😊✨

Peace, love, and glimmers to you. (No sincerely needed)

day 56

bff (best furry friend)

such a good listener
I can tell her anything
my secret keeper

~kat

My little dog, Gabby is always close by. She watches me intently, listens to my every word. And I often wonder what she must be thinking as I babble on and on. She sees my happy, sad, crazy side and follows me around like my shadow. She is my resident glimmer. We don’t deserve dogs. They are the perfect example of unconditional acceptance and love. May we all experience this perfect love at least once in our life.

Peace, puppy love and glimmers to you.

day 55

moonlit dawn ~ kat 2025
a trio of turkeys at the bird feeders …
more cactus blooms ~kat 2025
A trio of glimmers to start my day….

Meanwhile…the world…and I digress…

no bliss

oh to be
blissfully
unaware
simply
concerned
about the price
of eggs
of a promise
made
delayed
day one come
and gone
blame it on
the guy before
ignore
the elephant
in the room
too soon?
or too late
to participate
in this experiment
called democracy
as hell freezes over
and the world burns
when will we learn
history repeats itself
history repeats itself

~kat

and a deep breath…

thank goodness for glimmers…

Peace, Love, and Glimmers to you…repeat glimmers as needed!

day 54 – A Reverse Poem – 35 days of glimmers

day 54 - A ReVerse Poem - 35 days of glimmers

I was there that day
tendering moments of peace
you can be kind to others
diamonds light the dawn
it meant everything
remembering…

a great gaggle of gobblers passed by
and moments of zen
I’m sure you’re thinking
there is no safe place

it was a good day until
rain fell dawn to dusk
darkness fading
defying abject cruelty
touching my heart and soul deeply
how are you doing?

the price is high, this choice you made
drenching earth where seedlings rest
time to breath
the earth will bloom

i’m having a moment
much ado to do
resting in quiet peace
the time to be prepared is now
an impressive confidence
they’re special that way

born of magic
I am a survivor
it’s an unbearable burden
blanketed under winter

you owe it to yourself you know
grace before a storm
we are not broken
sometimes when words fail
it’s time that i accept the truth

~kat

It’s been more than a minute since I have put together a ReVerse. 35 days to be exact! My my how time flies when the world as we know it is imploding! Today’s creation spans all the way back to January, on the eve of Inauguration Day here in the US. It’s been a whirlwind hasn’t it? But we have survived on glimmers. Those daily glimpses of light in the darkness. They say if you do something for at least 30 days, it becomes a habit. And we need those glimmers more than ever now. Have you found it easier to notice them? I do most days. Like anything practice makes perfect!

So….Remember to breathe…and remember to be kind. It’s been a revelation to look back at what I was thinking over the course of a very eventful month and some. I’m giving it a moment to settle before pressing onward.

Be safe, be kind, be you, and no matter what the coming days hold…Peace, Love, and many, many more Glimmers to you.

~kat

A ReVerse poem (a practice I started many years ago) is a summary poem with a single line lifted from each entry of a collection of work over a particular timeframe and re-penned in chronological order as a new poem. Unlike a collaborative poem, the ReVerse features the words of one writer, providing a glimpse into their thoughts over time. I use it as a review of the previous week…or in this case, over the past 35 days.
