This makes me so sad…so I wrote about it…
a reckoning…we were warned
he’s planning to stay in the white house, you know paving rose gardens, wrecking east walls in horror, the world sees our once great nation fall while powerful cowards sell off their own souls paving rose gardens, wrecking east walls he’s planning to stay in the white house, you know

It’s a rollercoaster isn’t it? I had an appointment today. One of the rare times I head into town, leaving my house in the foothills. When I returned to my car this was on the front hood…
It’s a little acorn cap, right there for me to see. Of course, to me this was no ordinary acorn cap. In that moment, I imagined that a faerie just might have left it there for me to find…to show me that my beloved patch of land in the woods is never far away, even when I find myself in the city. I carry the woods with me in my heart and soul wherever I go. Actually I carry nature’s glimmers with me wherever I go…because, dare I say it…I am nature and nature is me…I am a glimmer!
That sounds a bit arrogant I’m thinking, but I feel that spark in me. Even on a day when the news is sad. Even amidst concrete and blacktop and bricks and mortar. Even in the midst of busy blank faces.
Still thinking about the past weekend’s grassroots peaceful nationwide events and feeling hopeful.
I’m late in posting today’s glimmers. My schedule has kept me busy! you may remember I had gotten a beautiful African Violet plant over the summer. It was three plants in one pot actually, and once the blooms had faded I knew it was time to separate the plants giving them their own bed of fresh soil to settle into. So, I did that over the weekend. On Monday, several days after the transplant each plant is thriving! The hue you see in the photos above is from a grow lamp. I am spoiling them a bit. Well not really. Giving them luscious soil and plenty of UV light is not spoiling. Plants, like people need the most basic things to thrive. Over 7 million people came out on Saturday to remind those who may have forgotten or who just don’t care, of that very fact!
Bonus glimmer! You may also notice my rescued sago pine plant featured above. I had to be very brave in my intervention, clipping away the wilted fronds as was suggested in my research on recovery for sago palms. To my delight nubs of new life erupted from the base. And now a month or more later, just look at those leaf limbs! She is coming back! Such a beautiful soul.
no one sleeps infused with light whispers of ancestors and we grow wise, midst a litany of if only’s and what if’s in the quiet hours of the night things that should be said doom scrolling mind control it starts with goosebumps people fear what they don’t know it’s not in my head peacemakers don’t deal in hate hovering close by, never alone light dancing with the wind We have weathered several seasons together. it’s voice, a soulful wailing sound sometimes I wonder who rescued who ‘twas once a great nation, but it’s now under siege

It was long past time for me to assemble lines from the last several weeks of poems, and write a ReVerse. Just so you know…almost a year into DT rule and I am not over it. The huge mistake silly self-absorbed people made when they unleashed hell on earth by giving the orange king a second go at destroying the country…and sadly, affecting our world neighbors as well. I have one question for these lemmings. Are you tired of winning yet? Because the rest of us are exhausted. We ended the week with a glimmer though. 7 million people took to the streets to say enough. We want our country back. It was a day of glimmers seven million strong.
There were several glimmers over the past few weeks that sustained me through the ups and downs of life. And today was no different. The annual show of Autumn leaves will be a limited engagement this year. The turning came late. It was just on the edge of spectacular, when the winds came through stripping the tree limbs. They say it’s because of an extended dry spell this fall.
Nature mimicking world events. I do hope the momentum and energy doesn’t fizzle out like the leaves this autumn. I do sense a change in the air. I’m holding on to that glimmer…and breathing.
Much love, peace, and glimmers to you.

A ReVerse poem (a practice I started many years ago) is a summary poem with a single line lifted from each entry of a collection of work over a particular timeframe and re-penned in chronological order as a new poem. Unlike a collaborative poem, the ReVerse features the words of one writer, providing a glimpse into their thoughts over time. I use it here as a review of the past several weeks.
‘twas once a great nation, but it’s now under siege by a wannabe king, faux commander in chief he’s demanding allegiance while committing malfeasance but the people assembled to tell him no kings

Today was historic. No matter how DT and his minions try to spin it, millions of Americans gathered across this nation to let those in power know that we know the truth. And we’re not buying the lies being fed to us by the cowardly propagandists in our government. The fact that millions showed up and that the assemblies were peaceful gives me so much hope. Today was a huge glimmer of a day.
