’tis hope rooted deep

What Lies Beneath

“What Lies Beneath” digital art by Kat Myrman 2017

tangled roots thrusting downward,
synapses surging,

born of fire in Gaia’s heart.

Winter tree
stripped bare by the frost
wears ivy
’round her roots
so to remember the spring’s
fair blooms in waiting.
