Happy World Poetry Day 2019!

first night
adorned in winter
tree lace, a veil of cool
mist conceals her face
luna the fair, fragrance of
vernal blooms wafting on air
luminous specter
eventide vespers, whispered
wishes, souls to keep

vernal equinox
primordial ooze
swells with new life, emerging
seed to root to shoot

spring interrupted
one last bluster
frosting
fragile blossoms
winter,
ice queen of the night,
she’ll not surrender her crystal throne to spring gently
