somewhere there’s a
butterfly
fluttering its delicate wings
creating
chaos, soft, waves of air
bellowing, swelling into tempests…change…somewhere there’s a butterfly

it is not
true
what they say, that
family
is always there, that blood
is thicker…some blood is like water spilt, evaporating

she twirls loose
strands

an absentminded idiosyncrasy that mesmerizes
