September Poem #15

raining
saturated
storm swells suspended over
beleaguered, battered coastal towns;
trees, shallow roots clinging

~kat

Florence rain has arrived in the mountains of Virginia now. She is expected to linger here for several days. Hunkering down for the weekend with snacks and an endless stream of old movies. 😊

September Poem #11

tempest
wide-eyed bluster
bellowing counter-clockwise
raging toward sleepy coastal shores
must get more milk and bread

~kat

Late Holiday

Photo from The Old Farmer’s Almanac

sleep in if you like
there is no such thing as late
when on holiday

late summer storms swell
each tempest has a nickname
holiday spoiler
