day 339 – a ReVerse Poem
It’s been more than a minute since I crafted a ReVerse Poem…this one spans several weeks. But…I’m glad I waited. I love this look back, line by line capturing daily snapshots of what I was thinking at the time.
Much love, peace, and glimmers to you. First, the ReVerse Poem…then a a glimpse into the magnificent glimmers that have sustained me!

A ReVerse Poem ~ Sunday, 14 December 2025
a snapshot in time
let me be a safe place for you
but for a golden moment
muted in cool gray
a snapshot in time
i felt her presence pressing my soul
breaking through the veil
if I were to change
she moves me unseen
crystalline ice shards tap my bare skin
barely capturing her magnificence, a faded photograph
to anyone who sees, it’s clear,
frost and lace
sheltering in grace
snow falls soft
they don’t know they’re wild
we should not whisper
oh so many times
darkness fades away
as promised, sure as dusk
~kat

A ReVerse poem (a practice I started many years ago) is a summary poem with a single line lifted from each entry of a collection of work over a particular timeframe and re-penned in chronological order as a new poem. Unlike a collaborative poem, the ReVerse features the words of one writer, providing a glimpse into their thoughts over time. I use it here as a review of the past several weeks.

day 335
What is something others do that sparks your admiration?

truth tellers
when telling the truth
is revolutionary
we should not whisper
~kat
It goes without saying…or maybe I need to say it out loud…truth is real, attainable, knowable, undeniable, verifiable by actual facts. Naysayers who say otherwise are lying. Which brings me to another, dare I say, truth, that should be obvious…but bears reminding…lies are not real.
Okay then…much love, peace, and glimmers to you…today’s sunrise was a true thing of beauty.

day 332…a day delayed
News has been more ridiculous than usual as we watch the physical and cognitive decline of our self-proclaimed great leader. I have stopped saying it can’t get any worse, because, well, you know. But today’s (or I should say yesterday’s glimmer? (I did write most of this poem yesterday…we were just away wearing ugly sweaters and doing holiday schmoozing)…as I was saying…today’s glimmer is that maga folk are starting to wake up! I won’t gloat…or even say, “told you so” but I will write about it, because that’s what I do. 😊 who says the fall of democracy can’t be fun…well not fun exactly…but I do like a bit of sarcasm every now and then!
Much love, peace, and WOKE glimmers to you!

sycophant’s bawl
he’s been quite naked now for years
it’s true, the emperor’s insane
his court of dunces hail his name
with flattery most insincere
to anyone who sees, it’s clear,
the ugly truth, they have no shame
he’s been quite naked now for years
it’s true, the emperor’s insane
they sold their souls to profiteer
for promises of power, fame
but now they know who bears the blame
oh they were duped, fed lies and fear
he’s been quite naked now for years

btw…this poetry form is called the Rondel.
A French form consisting of 13 lines: two quatrains and a quintet, rhyming as follows: ABba abAB abbaA. The capital letters are the refrains, or repeats.

day 327
a gray day
.
yet
another gray
day
the clouds fell to earth
a misty melding of sky and loam
blue glints
and golden streams of light
breaking through the veil
the storm ends
night slips into dawn
~kat
Things may seem impossibly dark right now, but remember my friends, all storms eventually pass. We may need to clean up debris and maybe even rebuild what we lost in the aftermath, but the sun and blue sky eventually break through. Just as night gives way to dawn, day moves into dusk; just as summer moves to autumn, to winter, to spring, please hold onto the glimmers that present themselves to you every day. Embrace every facet of this life. The light, the dark and everything in between.

Much love, peace, and glimmers to you!
