September Poem #14

the calm
serenity
tempest coasting delusion
blue sky lull, sleepy denial
maybe the storm will pass

~kat

It was a beautiful day today. Looming in the back of everyone’s mind was the behemoth raging just off the coast. Florence they call her. Today was the calm before the storm. Is that really a thing? There are websites that discuss the concept. At least for us, during this time of waiting, it is real. Now we hope for the best.

September Poem #2

at dusk
amber streams
bleed into blue; the sun creeps
down, down, behind the lace arbor
scrim sundered, dreams in wait

Saturday With The Muse

broken concrete is
devoured by green
steel, marble, glass,
man-made things
all will decay
life overcoming

I never grow weary
of nature’s beautiful
cycles…her quiet dusking
and sweet song at dawn…it is
why I can rest my soul in
deep peace through the
darkest of nights

a cool stream mingling amidst
sultry zephyr blasts
midsummer days challenged by
autumn crisp staking its claim
