A bit of fun…

Someone sent this to me on Facebook. My second to last text sent…

“Finishing a poem.”

I’m thinking some of you WordPressers can relate! Haha!

If you’re feeling silly like me on this beautiful Sunday, I invite you to play along. Leave your second to last texts in the comments. Go! 😀

Star War

A poem (comprised of 5 10-syllable lines with end words on each line that rhyme) for Jane Dougherty’s Poetry Challenge #50 based on the painting you see here. It just so happens that there is buzz in the news this week that NASA has discovered a new constellation. Well not a new one, it’s been there for eons, but their revelation has caused them to suggest that there are 13 zodiac signs not 12. This is terribly confusing and I am afraid I cannot wrap my brain around the new “me”.  Here’s my nifty little poem about stargazing.

“Constellations” by C. Santieau

I’ve always known that I’m a Gemini,
guided by twin stars in the night sky.
Its signs and attributes to me apply,
but scientific theory now implies
I’m Taurus born! That’s Bull I just can’t buy!

The Gift

“You aint from ‘round here are ya’ mister?” that’s what I said to him when he pulled up to the curb there and got out of that yellow chevy of his.

He says to me, “No bub, I’m not, but here take these,” and he hands me the keys, gives me a wink, and says, “take good care of her will ya?” like I’m some car park valet or somethin’.

So anyhow, I jest been sitting here waitin’, takin’ care of his old classic, even polished her up for him while I been waitin’, but it’s been over a week an’ I’m startin’ to wonder if that feller is comin’ back or if I jest got me a new damn car!

Do You Ribbit or Croak?

Time to get silly for my haiku blitz this evening. Did you know that toads are frogs? The dry land variety, but all part of the same classification…amphibia. I for one did not know this. (How ever did I make it this far in life?! It’s a wonder! :D)

Until now. I thought they were totally unique…like dolphins and porpoises. If you don’t know the difference between these two, it’s time to flex your Google fingers and learn something new! Never stop learning my friends!

Whether you ribbit or croak, a frog can be a toad or a frog…it’s all relative 🙂

some frogs are just toads

and moisturizer!
