dark storm clouds hover but for a golden moment trees kissed by the sun

I was busy working. When the light outside shifted. Of course I grabbed my phone, headed outside, and captured this golden moment. I am so grateful for this brilliant glimmer. This life is full of them.
much love, peace, and glimmers to you!

Oh…and before I post this…we have a new resident here in the foothills. Meet Einstein…of course we are sharing our kibble with this hungry soul. There is always room for one more at my little house on the hill.
Yes, that’s the crows’ peanut tray. Einstein has taken it over! The crows are still here. They have joined the deer, grazing on corn. I love my diverse little community. ✨💚✨
let me be a safe place for you an open heart that’s ever true shelter when the tempests rage to hold you close when you’re afraid the world can be a scary place where innocents can be erased where brute and power is extolled where hate takes root and turns us cold please know that I will always be a refuge safe, where you can flee when danger lurks at every turn you have a home where love’s light burns

A poem and a beautiful glimmer…innocence in the face of a fawn. She represents all that is pure and true to me in this crazy world. It is my hope to be a shelter, a friend, a safe place for all innocent souls in this world turned cold. I am here. It seems like such a simple thing to be kind at a time when compassion is seen as resistance.
a deep, slow breath in when the end is clearly not clear before fading into dust it’s the dawn that rescues me where the edge looms ever close a glimpse of the heavens morning walks through the mist at dawn just a glimmer souls of trees laid bare and pure the sweetest of blossoms into a world turned gray

Things have been quite bizarre lately stateside. Sometimes I envy my friends and neighbors across the border or across the pond. But it seems no matter where a body lives, there are leaders who don’t care about the people they serve but rather, care only about staying in power and reaping the benefits. It’s not like this generation of humans is experiencing an anomaly. Selfish, cruel leaders have been with us since time began.
I have found that the only way to survive the wrath of horrible leaders and the current disturbing state of the world is to focus on what is most important. Fortunately the season is right on time. There are opportunities to share time with family and friends this time of year more than any other. Perfect! Because that is what is most important. The relationships we cherish. The world will eventually right the downward spiral we are currently experiencing. For now and until the end of 2025, I choose to cherish those who mean the most to me…and that includes myself.
Take care my friends. Much love, peace and glimmers to you.
autumn’s splendor fades into a world turned gray all is black and white

The photo above was my first view when I woke. Hard to believe that the photo is in color. How bleak. Not at all the sight one hopes for at the start of a new day. It lurked long enough for me to write this sad little haiku.
And when I looked again the sun had streamed in to save me from drowning in melancholy. Why did I ever doubt the dawn’s ability to fill me with hope. Same window, same color setting on my camera. Beautiful bright, vibrant dawn!
This mercurial Gemini is wide awake now, reconsidering my first thoughts of pulling the covers up round my ears and staying in bed. It’s a new day ready to be seized!
I learned something about myself. How easily I can be influenced by my surroundings for better or for worse. It would be wise for me to remember to draw from the light that resides within…to pause…to breathe when things get dark. Life is rarely just black and white. A pause gives it time to reveal its true self.
Anyhow some silly thoughts on this bright, promising Saturday morning. The day did start with a glimmer after all! (As if there was any doubt!)
there rose up a murmur deep and dark, a secret grown cold too long from the sweetest of blossoms who never bloomed…it is a soulless world watches them wither, refusing to listen
Decades…decades of silent suffering. It’s time to listen to the voices of grown children, robbed of their innocence by monsters still lurking in broad daylight. No amount of redaction can shield them from the power of truth.
It has taken me a bit of time to speak of this horror evolving before our eyes. My heart breaks for the women…for children they never were.
They are not gods who rape and pillage innocence for pleasure. They are demons. May we finally see them for what they are and hold them all accountable for the atrocities they have inflicted.
Much love, peace, and glimmers my friends. Pulled this one from the archives to help us remember what flowers do best when allowed to thrive….
