spring is springing bud-bursts dot the towering trees spring is springing morning breaks with songbirds singing the scent of greening on the breeze filling our hearts with joie de vivre spring is springing

Happy almost spring to you! There are glimmers everywhere…especially now that spring is in the wings! For today, I am happy to ignore the spin and chaos and just enjoy the beauty of the season. Soon the hills will be covered in green dotted with bright perennials, and the trees will burst with leaves just in time to shelter nesters and fledglings. And the doe will be fawning… I wonder if we’ll have a set of twins or triplets wandering through as we have in years passed?! Even in the midst of dreadful daily news spring gives us so much look forward to in gratitude!
Peace, love and spring glimmers to you!

This past week we celebrated “March 4th or “Forth” if you will…as we headed into International Womens’ Day weekend, capping things off with daylight savings time with a reminder to “Spring Forward”! I’m sensing a theme here. Living in the moment has not served me well lately with so much chaos swirling about, but taking a moment to think about the world that could be, that we collectively could usher in, well, that gives me hope!
just imagine…
imagine a world where kindness is currency where justice is a birthright where peace is a state of being
imagine a world where creativity is encouraged where diversity is celebrated where leaders serve the people
imagine a world where nature is protected where all life is respected where wisdom is heeded
imagine a world where all work is valued where everyone is cared for where bellies are full
it may seems silly to dream of what could be but each person holds the key to making dreams a reality
imagine yourself offering kindness to a stranger standing up for a victim being empathetic, slow to anger
imagine yourself appreciating the beauty around you including the outsider in community stepping up to serve others
Imagine yourself leaving a small footprint giving up your seat to someone learning from mistakes and doing better
imagine yourself saying thank you checking in on a neighbor paying it forward to someone in need
it’s not so silly after all… if we can imagine it, we can do it we can be it
Peace, Love, and Glimmers of Dreams in the Making to You! ~kat
there once was a flock herd of gullible sheep who trusted a wolf who had learned how to bleat their best instincts, ignored they leaned in to hear more the wolf snarled, “mutton’s my favorite meat!”

You know what they say…if it’s too good to be true, well then, it probably is. We humans are so easily duped. If something is sensational or shiny enough we fall for it every time! This of course makes us especially vulnerable to con artists and charlatans. These types rarely have our best interests at heart. And so, today’s limerick is a cautionary tale for our times.
All things glittery are not glimmers. I generally take my cues from nature, the seasons, and the stars when judging whether a glimmer is true. The natural world is honest and without malevolence. One day you realize that you that you have much more in common with the natural world than you ever thought..or were taught to believe. When that happens it will be much harder for the wool to be pulled over your eyes. Your intuition will confirm what is real.
Peace, Love, and the truest of true Glimmers to you!
i woke up at dawn so to see the sun rising as if, just for me but even when I sleep in the sun fills the sky with light

Just sharing a thought that crossed my mind recently in my quest for glimmers. Glimmers are best when they are unexpected, and especially when they touch us, but not because they are presenting themselves to us personally. Such vanity…such hubris! Glimmers do what they do. They are best when we take the time and stop to notice their light and goodness.
The sun rising each day, the way a cool breeze feels on bare skin, the sound of birdsong, the sweet smell of ground-soaked rain…these wonders do not exist for me alone. I am learning as I pause to reflect on these daily glimmers that the gift of gratefulness is a powerful grace that feeds my soul in these moments. I am learning to be less expectant, more present, and more delighted by that grace as I learn to shed my self-centered tendencies as I embrace the world unfolding obliviously around me. Not just for me. But a precious gift that is life for us all!
Dumpty Trumpty from atop his fake wall declared to world “I’m the greatest of all you must bow before me and kiss my fat ass swear allegiance to me to gain what you ask but all for a price, you know nothing comes free and keeping you poor just means more for me so a tax for your thoughts, your hopes, your dreams away with the truth, nothing is what it seems though it may appear that we’re all on the brink I’ll tell you what you need to fear and to think It’s time to rewrite all of history’s facts with a sharpie in hand rename points on the map dispose of the words and the people I hate they’ll have to pay dearly to enter the gate democracy’s great if you know who to pay we’ll take all your treasure then turn you away America first, not the south part or north and only the red in the middle have worth!” yes, Dumpty’s a terror to all living things but if you look close, Putin’s pulling his strings.

Occasionally I just need to rant. I suppose I could scream at the top of my lungs in traffic or a crowded store. But I wouldn’t advise that sort of outburst. I do have an alternative…writing a saucy, satirical poem.
So that’s my glimmer for today. If the current state of the world has you feeling concerned, I hope it brings a smile to you. And if not, well, I’m sorry…not sorry.. I hope you’re offended. My favorite new greeting is “I hope you have the day you voted for!”
Peace (I really do wish you peace), love, and glimmers to you…glimmers of joy or glimmers of reality…whatever floats your boat.
