Saturday with the Muse

she’s a wild one, they say
a free spirit living by her
intuition, following a sacred
path, a wanderer, she knows
there is more to life than
being normal like the rest

there is no magic,
no secret to finding
one’s bliss
listen to your heart
it will show the way

I have opened my
eyes to a thousand
mornings remembering
only bits of dreams
I think they must
belong to the night
and my heart…it knows

I never mentioned
the bits of eggshells
on my tongue…what
mattered most was
the love you baked
into the cake and
its sweetness

November Naani #16

it’s so strange, the things
we remember, snapshots
of moments past…
lumpy cream of wheat

November Naani #15

unbroken

I remember believing

I might die when you left

yet here I am, breathing…

roses still smell sweet

November Naani #14

if you’ve never been
eye to eye with spitting rage
hate is a shocking shocking aberration
it’s time to wake up

Pleasant Read – A Reverse Etheree

it’s between the lines, the truest words dwell
skimmers who riffle miss the fine print,
the loveliest thoughts are not ink
blots on pages, the writer’s
exquisite intention,
is deciphered by
those who peruse
with their heart
and their
soul
