Happy Thursday! With all the chilly weather I have barely made it out my front door for weeks. Except, of course, to head to work and back (gotta pay for that front door!) So I decided since the title of this challenge is Echoes of my Neighbourhood I could share a bit of my drive to the office with you.
This is me and my sleeping buddy…yes it’s Maxwell…and yes I generally wake up happy…much to the chagrin of my housemate who needs coffee before she’s able to deal with the world! 😊

The front step of my house and the audacious little weeds that thrive in concrete and inclement weather! Love those guys! They inspire me!

And then about 5 miles West to the industrial park where I work…but not before passing the Chinese Buffet. Good place for lunch btw! 😊

…and a few more stop lights and we are here…

One last look at the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain Range…

…and another day begins!
Until it’s time to go home to this! ☺️

See other Neighborhoods at my friend Jacqueline’s blog, “a cooking pot and twisted tales” echoes…😊

“No silly, honey doesn’t grow on trees!”
“But you said we was goin’ to the Honey Tree, Auntie Sue!”
“Yes I did! It’s a special store on Shore Drive. And this is the perfect time of day to visit. When the sun is setting, it gives the store fronts an amber glow.”
“Whatsa namberglow?”
“Amber glow, Sarah. It’s the color of the buildings when the sun sets just so…like gold…do you see it?”
“Oh, I see it…oooh…I like amber glow!”
“Well the reason we’re going to the Honey Tree right this minute is because I heard that the beeswax candles you buy at sunset are magic. You can make a wish when you light them.”
“Any wish, Auntie Sue?”
“Any wish.”
“And your wish will come true?”
“Well I guess we’ll never find out unless we try.”
“You know what I gonna wish for Auntie Sue?”
“I think I might. I’m gonna wish that too.”
“I wish that mommy will get better. That’s what I wish.”
“Me too sweetie…me too…”

A photo taken this previous winter. Enhanced using a little digital magic, but the original view at sunset truly did make the branches look as if aflame while the lower portion of the tree remained green. A Haiku was definitely in order to commemorate this event! 🙂
