who will keep them safe
defenseless children, orphaned
ransom for a wall

Well I can’t help but think the timely prompt words for Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Challenge were asking for this. How can I not write about the children. They are always on my mind, and will continue to be until they are reunited with their parents and we end this horrible nightmare.

Safe – A Haiku

there is no safe place

no high ground, no border wall

to save us from us

~kat

For Haiku Horizons Challenge, prompt word, safe.

Safe – a Haiku Challenge

Safe

we assume we’re safe
behind our locked doors and walls
hearts throb in darkness

A Haiku for Haiku Horizon’s Weekly Challenge, prompt word: SAFE

Storm Signs – A Palindrome for Palindrome Week

Palindrome-Week.png

In honor of Palindrome week…here is a Palindrome Poem.

Storms coming…
furious blustering wind
midst clouds looming dark
while thunderous
voices strobing
terror
warning ever warning
raindrops falling
like tears
frightened fragile
souls crying
are there
places safe
enough
~Signs~
enough
safe places
there are
crying souls
fragile frightened
tears like
falling raindrops
warning ever warning
terror
strobing voices
thunderous while
dark looming clouds midst
wind blustering furious
coming storms.
