On Being Present – 42 Day 17

why the longing

never satisfied
ever striving

breathe…
everything you need
is here and now

Tour de Force

tour de force

triumph
in grace thrusting
so to feel the sun’s kisses
the sprout bursts through concrete
éclat

Unaffected – 42 Day 16

Unaffected

I could lose myself

in the rain tapping on the window…plop…plop
mid-day drowsy, under fluorescent lights, strobing

I could, but I won’t
it has taken me far too long to find myself…
and this isn’t me…no, not by a long shot

Day 16 of Jane Dougherty’s Daily Poem Challenge: “42”.

42 Day 15

muted dawn and this

heaving, heavy,
wet-grey stillness

would that the rain would
come, blackening the sky
cooling us with its tears

~kat

42 Day 15 for Jane Dougherty’s Daily Poetry Challenge.

Hearsay – 42 Day 14

have you heard

the latest titillating
scathing, scandalous news

wise inquirers will
reserve judgment for
the horse’s perspective
