Saturday With The Muse

broken concrete is
devoured by green
steel, marble, glass,
man-made things
all will decay
life overcoming

I never grow weary
of nature’s beautiful
cycles…her quiet dusking
and sweet song at dawn…it is
why I can rest my soul in
deep peace through the
darkest of nights

Saturday with the Muse

Just one this evening…

the dark, velvet sky
opened up its heart
to welcome home our
brother from this life
how we wish that he
had lingered here longer

Saturday with the Muse

healing is a long time
coming for those poisoned
by the lies of fools
remembering things
that never were

gentle falling is
soon to come
with the darkening
of days and
frost murmuring
softly on the breeze

keeping an open heart
takes a good bit of
hope and faith when
one’s innocence has
been regarded as
nothing by powerful
users promising the moon

Saturday with the Muse

i have loved like a fool
lingering longer than i
should, breathless with
fever, unaware that the
fire was slowly
devouring my soul

she is not whispering
anymore…the goddess
is repulsed by our hate
and greed…a storm is
surely coming if we
stay this ugly course

Saturday with the Muse

another day sifts
through our fingers
a thousand stars to
wish upon…if only
they were listening

moss covered rocks
line the garden
the roses have gone
to seed…soon leaves
will fall, a-withering
rustling on the breeze
