earth after the tempest

rain drenched, grassy knolls
swelling waterways, sparkling

misty hollows, verdant lush
scent of blossoms, earthy musk
wetness becomes her

      We’re lucky. Our house is on high ground. People in town dealing with flooding. The weather is crazy.

        It was Mother’s Day here yesterday and the kids were going to come on Saturday and stay over so they could wish me happy mother’s day before breakfast (their idea, not mine) but the train line was blocked by a mud slide after a freak storm and not cleared until the middle of Sunday afternoon. Monday we were back to strike service. What a mess!

        The second and the fourth have a great sense of the necessity of celebrations. They can’t let anything go by without organising festivities. To be honest, I’d happily be more selective 🙂
