keep the faith
hope for peace
believe…but remember
god does her best
work with a little help
from you

healing never comes
to those who linger
on things that
could have been

death is but a
passage to the
sweet by and by
a tiny sleep, but
life goes on
eternally

eden must have
been beautiful to
behold, but I do believe
that I can feel its sweet
spirit every spring

(Tremulously he dares to disagree with Kat …)
How about “God works best with a little help from you.” I am looking at content without regard of structural requirements you considered.
If I did not comment I would join the ranks of sycophants agreeing with all expressions feminist without regard to the value added by the expression.
My gender neutral radar went into overdrive but not enough to decrease my appreciation for and interest in your posts.
It is scary that I liked the post on “death is … a tiny sleep” the best

Ah, your point is well taken my friend. My gender slant was intentional. Thank you for pointing out that your gender neutral radar kicked in at the suggestion that god has a gender. Your enlightenment is shining through. If I may be so bold as to say that if the god in my poem was a he, many would not even shrug or give it a thought (present company excluded of course :)) For millennia we have resigned ourselves to the assumption that god is he, father, son, king, creator of man (ahem…and woman, but with the understanding that it was man who came first, woman, being created in the image of man, actually, fashioned from man’s rib…cloned…and a fatally flawed creation at that leading to man’s downfall…dear oh dear!!!😢). I heartily agree with you that god is most certainly gender neutral. It wasn’t my intention to exclude gentleman from the essence of the poem’s message, but every now and again I like to remind myself, after years of acceptance that I was created in the image of man…that I was created in the image of God too. It’s a powerful little pronoun, I agree, that means everything and nothing. Thank you for noticing. P.S. I like that little poem about death too…😊

All “he” all the time and one “she” gets him twisted? Yikes!

It speaks to several scenarios I think. We are all evolving. God as a gender neutral deity; why it is important to embrace with grace, the proclamation Black Lives Matter without needing to say All Lives Matter, holding to the ideals of our founders who wrote freedom of religion into our constitution, for all religions, while not demanding that we all to a singular faith, and opening our hearts to the beauty in all beliefs. We are complicated people, but we are evolving. It takes a lot of grace to soften the bumps in the road. But I am encouraged. ❤️

These poems were very positive I think. I hope we can get over these bumps in the road too.
