pressed impressions of
folioles and rose petals
between leather-bound
leaves of pulpy cellulose,
harvested fronds from the fall
fading memories
once fragrant, verdant, now parched
crumbling to dust

A nice poem. Yesterday I pulled a book from the shelf, which I last read some fifteen years ago. A perfectly pressed oak leaf fell out. Made my day

It’s like finding things in coat pockets. Makes me want to plant treasures in hiding places to entertain my future self. Thanks!

Nice combo. I’ve never pressed a flower between pages, I should try that..

It’s a good idea to put the flower in a plastic baggie if you do so you don’t lose the petals. 😊

…or ruin the book, I suspect☺. I’m going to try it with a minature rose before they succumb to the cold.
