the
world
when seen through
droplets of rain
appears much gentler
than the reality
of boundaries and edges
dreamlike water-colored daubs
bleeding…buried mem’ries
rising from the depths
softening now
eyes welling
warm with
tears.

Naked Tree

Dearest Tree,
I watch you cling
to the last leaves of
summer as cold
Autumn gusts
abruptly
undress you. But
I must say, nakedness
becomes you.

They say, “Pride comes before the fall.”

Pride…A Limerick

She prided herself queen of style
as she sauntered her way up the aisle
with all eyes on her now
she turned round for a bow
and presented a spinach-laced smile!
