A few bits of bread. A peace offering to my beloved crows who have avoided me for months since their comrade died near my feeder. They have accepted…May the healing begin! 💔💕❤️
forgiven . crows remember a face and are known to hold grudges for years it broke my heart when a crow died close to the feed tray filled with treats the other crows watched
and it seems held me to account as they mourned, I mourned…they stopped coming my beloved murder…held a grudge against me I feared, but they are back trust is a gift I do not take unmindfully may the healing begin

An extended pi-sequence poem (3.1415926535 8979323846) that tells a story and highlights my glimmer for today. I took a chance to reach out to my beloved crows who have shunned me like the plague all these months. I feel forgiven…not generally a thing crows do lightly. It makes me so happy on this gray day!
I wrote two poems today. They follow along the same theme. I can’t decide which one to post. And because I hate having to choose, I choose both. I am distressed by what I’m seeing from Minnesota. And the vicious added insult to injury wielded by our unhinged, vindictive government. I read that they are here in our town too. Someone recorded them, posting a warning to us on social media platforms. No one is safe.
heartbeats
a pulse detected means very different things to different people to some it’s a right to life to others, countdown to death the dearest price paid oftentimes by women, by mothers denied healthcare and autonomy to assuage fragile man-boys with power to choose which heartbeat deserves to live women, mere vessels, repositories for sperm, expendable, when too loud
(this poem follows the pattern of a trio of tankas)
——————————————————————————————-
when the worst thing isn’t
it snowed at dawn for only a few minutes no delicate flakes, just pellets of ice tap, tap, tapping on the frozen ground there’s more to the story they say the talking heads and daily scrolls horrible truth bleeding out… there was a faint heartbeat when they found her, precious time stolen by hateful thugs who let her die the tap, tap, tapping of a pure heart broken by malevolence and hate a kind voice silenced by pellets of ice

were there glimmers today? Of course…as there are every day…
What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?
a long life . now that the kids are grown living their best lives with growing families of their own this nest has become so quiet now I have three cats a dog and a bird, named Bean the thought of living a long life surrounded by this menagerie leads me to wish simply this… may I live long enough to outlive every soul that still needs me

A pi-sequence inspired poem with the following syllable count by line: 3.14159265358979323
Today while preparing breakfast for my furry, feathered menagerie, my three cats, as they do every morning, gathered to encourage me to get on with it.
These three, who were not part of our plans, but chose us ( as they say ), and me, being the softy that I am, could not bear to leave them in the street.
The mom, Matilda, and two of her kittens, Frankie and Schrodinger (two other kittens were adopted by a co-worker…thank goodness!) are living the pampered life of a house cat!
I am increasingly aware that am getting older. Since our other cats lived long lives of 18, 20, and 23…I hope I outlive this trio. I am so grateful they showed up under my porch seven and a half years ago, They are lovely company. I suppose it’s silly. But can you blame me? Just look at those faces! May I live long so they can prosper! BTW…they are my glimmers today.
Mom, Matilda walking away on the left, Frankie giving me a talking to, and Schrödinger our black ninja cat who is always on the perimeter observing!Mama Matilda

And a silly, deadly serious pi sequence poem…
poke the bear . and you’ll be sorry bears have left the woodlands they are roaming the neighborhoods now hungry… no one is safe…no one the gnome department has declared “do not poke the bears they possess free reign to pillage, to terrorize the citizenry” by order of the great pig, commander in thief, grand pooh-bah maga-phants declare allegiance

A crazy day…so many things hitting the fan inour world. How I love a red sunset to help me wind down.
Much love, peace, and dusky glimmers to you! It’s getting a bit messy in the light of day. I call it the storm before the calm. Be kind and remember to breathe. ✨✨✨💚💚💚✨✨✨
It was a daunting challenge. Find glimmers and write about it for 365 days. There were a few days missed to the business of life, but I pressed on. My goal 365 posts, even if it dipped into the new year. Which it did. And then last week as I was nearing the end of the challenge, I realized that I would be finishing today…1/11 which falls in 2026…”1” numerically speaking…and it just so happens that my birthdate adds up to the master number of 11. There are a lot of 11’s in this scenario…and trust me when I tell you I did not plan this! But needless to say 11 has always been a special number to me.
What a serendipitous denouement to a glittering year…one that tested our hearts, souls, patience and resolve in ways we never imagined. But here we are. Armed with the assurance that we made it. May we continue to press on with kindness, compassion, and truth.
I thought it would be appropriate to end this year in a ReVerse taking a line from each month from one of the poems that got the most “likes” for that month. In essence I am letting you all help me write the last ReVerse poem of this past year…
365 days of glimmers
vengeance in the wind touches my heart and soul deeply days feel longer deceived, a blink, a nod, and evil wins the quiet murmur will not deny that we exist there is a whisper of light piercing through the stained glass a time to harvest…to let go strong, full of life, in the light of the sun to dream dreams
~kat
We did it together! Made it through a crazy year and lived to tell. I love how this ReVerse started with trepidation but ended on a high note! Thank you my friends for helping me craft the perfect look back over the past 365 days. 😊
Much love, peace, kindness, and glimmers to you. So many glimmers. May the coming year be one of serendipitous moments and continued glimmers to keep you!
