Our Mother, Nature

Spring cleaning today, so this poem will serve two purposes…Magnetic Poetry Saturday and NaPoWriMo 2017 #22…a poem in honor of Earth Day.

she murmurs gently from
beneath the ancient rocks,
thick with moss, that
they who hear her
sweet song will follow
the wind and know eden
wandering no more

All Wet – Magnetic Poetry Monday

would that I could
linger here and
feel the rain as
blossoms do,
wild and bright,
but alas, I am
withering

Sweetness – Magnetic Poetry Saturday

between the dark of
night and the light
of day dawn
gently rustles
earth in
sweetness

Concrete – Magnetic Poetry Monday

we are born naked into this life
with fat, warm growling bellies,
throbbing hearts and perfumed breath…
is it any wonder that we bleed
bits of magic out over time, dying,
surrounded by a decaying universe
of steel, dirt, glass, concrete and the
lingering blush of broken dreams

Magnetic Poetry Saturday

never is the moon
more bright than when
it is frosted by clouds
