day 52

shifting

winter’s fading
melting away under the sun
winter’s fading
remnants of snow veiled in shading
linger, though the shift has begun
the days grow warm, spring’s soon to come
winter’s fading

These days when it feels like there is never enough time (hence, this late daily posting), there is also the acknowledgement that time brings change, welcome change in the passing of one season to the next. Those in between seasons are my favorites. Autumn when the cooling temperatures bring a refreshing relief to the heat of summer and spring when the frigid cold of winters warms and a new cycle of life begins. There is hope in the in between. Dare I say “a glimmer”?!

Peace, love and warm glimmers to you!

Today we try our hand at the Rondelet. (You know I love a good refrain!). Here are the bones of a rondelet poem:

  • 7 lines
  • Lines 1, 3, and 7 are refrains
  • Refrain lines are 4 syllables long, other lines are 8 syllables
  • Rhyme scheme: AbAabbA

day 51 – wait, what?

I’ve spent the evening wrestling with senseless words…too many words…tonight’s simple haiku will have to do. At the very least I have managed to be present. That’s something. That’s a pretty big something.

Peace, love, and silent golden glimmers to you.

Shhhhhhh…..kat

day 50

remember…
we are not broken
as fools have said

you are a brilliant, ferocious,
magic, dazzling star child
with heart and a voice
on fire for truth…use it

~kat

peace, love, and dazzling glimmers to you…use that beautiful voice of yours!

day 49

The deer of Bramlett Mountain ~ kat
a deer sighting

gentle visitors
emerge from the trees at dusk
grace before a storm

There is another s snow event heading our way. They name snow storms now you know. This one is named Kingston. He is carrying a ton of snow to our region. At least that’s the best guess of meteorologists.

The name Kingston is old English and means simply, “the king’s town”. And a thought occurred to me and made me smile. We don’t have a king here. Not here in these foothills…not in this state…not in this country. Not yet anyway. But right here, right now, I have visitors who happened by. Graceful, beautiful  souls to remind me to go gently into this night. Come snow by dawn or not, Kingston is just passing through and spring is coming. Most surely, spring is in the wings.

Gentle peace, love and glimmers to you.

day 48

path to serenity

take a moment, remember to breathe
when life overwhelms you, calm your soul
embrace the path to serenity

immerse yourself in pure love and peace
when adversity comes, take control
take a moment, remember to breathe

release all fear and set worries free
you owe it to yourself you know
embrace the path to serenity

you know the way so don’t be deceived
your heart is where the light of truth glows
take a moment, remember to breathe

let the world wait, all the time you need
connect to source where all wisdom flows
take a moment, remember to breathe
embrace the path to serenity

~kat

It has become an obsession. The only way I can survive these uncertain times is through mindfulness and basically, simply, remembering to breathe. All any of us truly has assured is the present moment. It is available to me every moment. When I pause the noise in my head, focus on the moment and my breath, it is a calming reminder that I am okay in the right here and now. In fact I am so okay that the beauty around me, birdsong, all good things, my loved ones, the blessings that color this gift of life that I live, all these things have a moment to cover me in grace. Remember to breathe.

Peace, Love, and Glimmering Moments to you!
