it’s too soon much too soon my darling daffodils to breach the loam to dare to bloom much, much too soon
i’m sorry dear, sweet daffodils the mercury ascended disguised itself as spring to lure us from our winter wombs to prey upon our longing hearts tomorrow you will feel the sting as winter rides the ides, lurks, waiting in the wings his frosty breath descending to nip your golden face at dawn
but oh the hope you give my soul weary from these long, long nights spring tidings to you for today may she not tarry long
That’s beautiful, Kat! The most amazing display of daffodils that I have ever seen was on the hillside at the train station in Edinburgh, Scotland. There were hundreds of them! Thanks for bringing that memory to my mind again 💖
Wow Michael! Just picturing a hillside of daffodils! So many things are in bloom here. I do hope we don’t have another cold snap! I always feel sad for the flowers that fade too soon. 🥀
Hello Kat so nice to see you here ! How are you and yours doing, two and four legs. We are okay and plodding along.
Your poem is so good it has an honest classic feel to it 🙂🙂💜💜
I must admit 2023 has been a rough year. T having had emergency back surgery in January and still not able to walk unassisted. We take it a day at a time here. I am fortunate to work remotely in my day job so I can tend to her needs as well. The fur kids are doing great. We count our blessings.
I feel for T.. having been there. Give her my love and good vibes and tell her how ever long it takes she will get there , I did.
A day at a time is all you can ask …it works. You both have eachother so you’re blessed and so are those fur babies 💜💜💜💜
I love this Kat. We have snowdrops and crocus out but no daffodils yet, although it will only be a couple of days until they show their faces. I’ve just had another listen to your rendition of Naked Legs. I like it more each time I hear it! Stay safe, warm, and healthy. Love to you both. 🤗💛
Thank you Peter. The trees and shrubbery are in bloom as well, and I saw a few weeping willow trees the other day, their delicate limbs fluttering in green. Spring is just a breath away. Thank you for the good wishes…they carry me when I need a boost! Love to you and yours 🥰💚

I know that feeling… tulips were blooming in Estes Park when we got 36 inches of snow the third week in May one year… it was so sad
