My resources put me below the federally defined poverty line…however, I’m grateful to get some assistance, i.e., subsidized housing, and state food assistance, and dual medicare/medicaid health coverage. There’s a down-side to it all, mostly the stigma and general disrespect–but it beats living on the street. Like I said, I’m very grateful to have the basics I need, and enough to share–so on sunny days, I guess I’d say I’m “rich” 🙂 I suspect that in some ways I have a better situation than the “working poor” and the 98%–but I can’t speak with any authority.

It is a hard life for so many Ennle. Sad, because it doesn’t need to be that way. Our nation’s leaders have lost their way. ☹️

They certainly have–with our wealth, everyone should have at least “enough”; there shouldn’t be poverty like we see, I believe.
