Yes it is. In researching it, I discovered it has its roots in early christianity. Which is odd. Superstition and fear should not be associated with those who have faith. At least in my humble opinion.

I tend not to be superstitious like you Joseph, but social conditioning still niggles into my brain. I tend to deny those silly warnings.
