Eden Dawning – Magnetic Poetry Saturday

vining up from
seed to root along
an ancient path
through rocks and
frosted earth, tendrils
of eden softly dawning

Magnetic Poetry Saturday – 11 March 2017

she is more than a
whisper, lovely in pink
petals, light and honey
sweet…she is a goddess,
crushing death so
that those who sleep
beneath the rocks may
rise from the shadows
to life…gorgeous, raw,
luscious, lusty, wildly
alive, she is spring

It’s Just a Weed

it’s just a weed
you know it’s true
it’s just a weed

with blooms of blue
the first to rise
you know it’s true

feast for our eyes
a sign of spring
the first to rise

though winter clings
with one more frost
a sign of spring

seems all but lost
it will not die
with one more frost

it will survive
it’s just a weed
it will not die
it’s just a weed

Weeds – Magnetic Poetry Saturday

weeds

the loveliest flowers
bloom to life when
earth is cold and wet
and gently greening…
spring is but a
breath away

Ode to Spring – A Nonet

Ode to days of inclement warming
when dew collects in fat droplets,
and green shoots burst from the earth;
buds bulge from fragile limbs,
birdsong on the wind.
When days grow long
and nights wane.
It’s time.
Spring!
