A Tear in the Veil…

img_6036
Victims of the fray
Slumber ‘neath shrouds of linen
Soon comes the reaper.

(…and a 21st Century version of the haiku above. Thanks to Susan at buildingapoem for the nudge 😊 …making me work for those syllables! )

Victims of the fray
Sleep under shrouds of linen
Soon comes the reaper.

Beyond the veil
Heaven and hell fight for souls
Free Will always wins.

Brrrr…my Buddy!

My Sun Conure , Mr. Bean, celebrating “Talk Like A Pirate Day” last year!

“Shiver Me Timbers!”
his mate Polly squawked on repeat…
“Avast!” old Jack cried!

No truer friend, she,
Willing to shiver, huddled
With me, ice fishing.

Their friendship was true
Growing deeper into love,
Two hearts a-flutter.

Cheeky + Thrill Seekers + Who Play Hard

A trio of Haiku for Ronovan Writes weekly Haiku Challenge. This week the prompt words are: Shower & Play. To read more click HERE.

Shower’s are cheeky
when the couple has played house
before the wedding.

After a deluge
the river banks swell and churn
and thrill-seekers play!

Those who play hardest
will lose friends if they forget
to shower harder!

In her vanity
She planned a simple face lift
Not a “joker” smile.

Always have a plan
Even if it’s called Plan B
Some goals need backup.

A voyeur is thrilled
when sitting front row center
can-can dancers flash.
