Sometimes a glimmer can be a person…

today we remember
they cannot erase
the fact that he existed
history is not
a matter of opinion
we were changed by Martin’s dream
we’re not going back
silence is not an option
freedom is not free

it is barely a whisper,
raw as the day he said it,
raining down on us now
like bittersweet milk from
cool breasts run dry, aching…
never have we needed those
words more…love’s cry
from ago, still wanting…
“I have a dream.”
