day 64…slightly delayed

whispers from the ash heap

nobody noticed
when the dust settled
drifting into nooks and cracks
coating shelves and knickknacks
nobody noticed
when everything slowly faded
under a dull gray hue

we have forgotten
we are stardust and light
we are bone and sinew
blood and flesh infused
with the eternal spirit of love
living, breathing beacons
with potential for goodness

nobody noticed
as we languished
under the ash heaps
of history repeating
we have forgotten
what we are made of
we have forgotten
who we are...

This one ruminated for a while in my head, eking out in pieces…I needed to sleep in it to bring it to the page. The glimmer for day 64…remember, remember who you are. Don’t let anyone tell you that you are less than…

Peace, Live, and Glimmers to you!

February Poem #17

…to dust

dead bits of shed skin
mite droppings, dander, and hair
remnants of life, layered thin,
adrift in the air…
death falls like a veil everywhere

Cupboard Haiku

Beautiful treasures
Collect dust in our cupboards
As if things matter.
