Saturday Magnets

how vast is the universe
the sky brilliant with stars
oceans laughing with fishes
the perfume of salt and wild
flowers lingering on the breeze
breath of angels, eternity’s kiss
it’s almost heaven…almost

we who could not be content
with eden will forever wander the
earth planting gardens in stone
longing for a life deeply rooted

I dream in whispers
crushed by a thousand
cares, sleep watching
me from the shadows

Magnetic Poetry

May Day 25

…at what cost?

if
i had
a penny
for every
penny lost, i would barely break even

May Day 24

aging gracefully

the
mirror
reveals
a softer me,
thinning skin, hair…eyes unchanged, rememb’ring

May Day 23

allium vineale

this
transplant
from the east
seems out of place
here, overlooked as a wild noxious weed

From Wikipedia: Allium vineale (wild garlic, onion grass, crow garlic or stag’s garlic…also called “Dready”) is a perennial, bulb-forming species of wild onion, native to Europe, northwestern Africa and the Middle East. The species was introduced in Australia and North America, where it has become a noxious weed.

I had never seen this plant before. Of course I had to look it up!

May Day 22

white sails

the
lilies
are blooming
pearlescent flutes,
ambassadors of peace with prickly tongues
