day 73…have yourself some pi

Happy Pi Day!

It’s Pi day and you know what that means! I get to write a poem based on the pi number sequence. You can do that a number of ways…by correlating the numbers in the sequence by syllables or by the number of words per line. It can be as short or long as you like. Typically I use the first whole number of the sequence (3) for the title line.

pi = 3.1415926535 8979323846 as the inspiration for today’s poem

Peace, love, and glimmers to you! I promise, there’s a glimmer at the end of today’s poem! March On!

we forgot
.
when
it first started,
when
they crashed the party…
we laughed then, but it’s not funny now
funny
if only we had known,
paid more attention
to the signs…
it might have saved us

how blissfully ignorant
of us to assume benevolence
from a vile, psychopathic,
felonious, predatory cheat
who never
cared for
anyone
not even those who kiss his ring
it’s not over
we decide how this ends

On Pause

there is a
hush
a blaring din
life
as we once knew it
on pause, love draws near…from a distance

Because it is still March…
The Pi-Archimedes verse is:
○ a hexastich, a poem in 6 lines.
○ measured by the number of words in each line 3-1-4-1-5-9 to match the numerical sequence of the first six digits of Pi.
○ unrhymed.
Pi=3.14159…

March Pi-Archimedes #31

butterflies

somewhere there’s a
butterfly
fluttering its delicate wings
creating
chaos, soft, waves of air
bellowing, swelling into tempests…change…somewhere there’s a butterfly

And…that’s a wrap. 31 days of pi-archimedic perfection. I have loved this form. April is poetry month. My usual micro-shorts will be replaced by NaPoWriMo offerings each day. Summoning the Muse! Let the words flow!

March Pi-Archimedes #30

blind love

you say i’m
beautiful
even when i’m feeling
frumpy
you tell me i’m perfect
just as i am, it’s true, love is blind

March Pi-Archimedes #29

broken bonds

it is not
true
what they say, that
family
is always there, that blood
is thicker…some blood is like water spilt, evaporating
