I close my eyes, only for a moment, and the moment’s gone
All my dreams pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind
Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Oh, ho, ho
Now, don’t hang on, nothing lasts foreverbut the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won’t another minute buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind Everything is dust in the wind Everything is dust in the wind
The wind

A Black Out (Found Poem) for Manic Monday’s Three-Way Challenge: Word: Imperfection/Song: All of Me – John Legend (see below with bold “found” text)/Photo: as seen above.
All of Me By John Legend
What would I do
without your smart mouth
Drawing me in, and you kicking me out
Got my head spinning, no kidding, I can’t pin you down
What’s going on in that beautiful
mind
I’m on your magical mystery ride
And I’m so dizzy, don’t know what hit me, but I’ll be alright
My head’s under water
But I’m breathing fine You’re crazy and I’m out of my mind
‘Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I’ll give my all to you
You’re my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I’m winning
‘Cause I give you all, all of me
And you give me all, all of you
How many times do I have to tell you
Even when you’re crying you’re beautiful
too
The world is beating you down, I’m around through every move
You’re my downfall, you’re my muse
My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues
I can’t stop singing, it’s ringing, in my head for you
My head’s under water
But I’m breathing fine
You’re crazy and I’m out of my mind
‘Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I’ll give my all to you
You’re my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I’m winning
‘Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all, all of you
Give me all of you
Cards on the table,
we’re both showing hearts
Risking it all, though it’s hard
‘Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I’ll give my all to you You’remy end and my beginning
Even when I lose I’m winning
‘Cause I give you of me
And you give me all of you
I give you all, all of
me
And you give me all, all of you

A Black Out Poem for Manic Monday’s Three-Way Prompt: Word: Shattered, Photo: See Above, Song: “Come Undone” by Duran Duran (see below with bolded found text).
“Come Undone” Performed by Duran Duran
Mine, immaculate dream made breath and skin
I’ve been waitingfor you.
Signed with a home tattoo,
Happy Birthday to You was created
for you
Can’t ever keep from falling apart at the seams
Can’t I believe you’re taking my heart to pieces
Oh, it’ll take a little time,
Might take a little crime
To come undone now
We’ll try to stay blind
To the hope and fear outside
Hey, child, stay wilder than the wind
And blow me in to cry
Who do youneed, who do you love
When you come undone?
Who do you need, who do you love
When you come undone?
Words, playing me deja vu
Like a radio tune I swear I’ve heard
before
Chill, is it something real
Or the magic I’m feeding off your fingers?
Can’t ever keep from falling apart at the seams
Can I believe you’re taking my heart to
pieces?
Lost in a snow filled sky,
We’ll make it alright
To come undone now
We’ll try to stay blind
To the hope and fear outside.
Hey, child, stay wilder than the wind
And blow me in to cry…
Who do you need, who do you love
When you come undone?
Who do you need, who do you love
When you come undone?
(Can’t ever keepfromfalling apart)
Who do you need, who do you love
When you come undone?
(Can’t ever keep from falling apart)
Who do you need, who do you love?
(Can’t ever keepfrom falling apart)
Who do you love
When you come undone?
(Can’t ever keep from falling apart)

i think i knew i had better things to do… it’s too late.
back then i wouldn’t say it. i blew it.
we said someday we’d feel more. i was lookin’ to stay.
if i could i would change every memory; it’s hard to say goodbye.

Every timeI do it makes me laughHow did our eyes get so red?
And what the hell is on Joey’s head?
This is where I grew
up
I think the present owner fixed it
up
I never knew we ever went without
The second floor is hard for sneakin’ out
And this is where I
went to school
Most of the time I had better things to
do
Criminal record saysI broke in
twice
I must of done it half a dozen times
I wonder if it’s too late
Should I go back and try to graduate?
Lot’s better now than it was back then If I was them, I wouldn’t let me in
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, God, I
Every memory of lookin’ out the back door
I have the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It’s hard to say it
Time to sayit
Good bye, good bye
Every memory of walkin’ out the front door I found the photo of the friend that
I was lookin’ for
It’s hard to say it
Time to say it
Good bye, good bye, good bye
Remember the old arcade? Blew every dollar that we ever made
The cops hated us hangin’ out
They said somebody went and burnt it down
We use to listen to the radio
And sing along with every song we know We said somedaywe’d find out how it feels
To sing to more than just a steering
wheel
Kim’s the first girl I kissed
I was so nervous that I nearly missed
She’s had a couple of kids since then
I haven’t seen her since God knows when
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, God, I
Every memory of lookin’ out the back door
I have the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It’s hard to say it
Time to say it
Good bye, good bye
Every memory of walkin’ out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I
was lookin’ for
It’s hard to say it
Time to say it
Good bye, good bye, good bye
I miss that town
I miss their faces
You can’t erase
You can’t replace it
I miss it now
I can’t believe it
So hard to stay
Too hard to leave it
If I could relive those days I know the one thing that would never change
Every memory of lookin’ out
the back door
I have the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It’s hard to say it
Time to say it
Good bye, good bye
Every memory of walkin’ out the
front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was lookin’ for It’shard to say it
Time to say it
Good bye, good bye, good bye

Today’s Manic Monday Three-Way Prompt is based on the Word: Rejoice, the Photo: (a portion of the original) above and the Song: Oh Come, Oh Come Emanuel (lyrics below). When I think of God/Emanuel coming, I think about the innocents that need him most. At least for today, there are many who are still suffering. And so I decided a prayer would do for today’s Manic Monday. I’m not sure why my thoughts and heart went in an opposite direction with today’s prompt. It’s not exactly an example of rejoicing. But perhaps it’s a means to an end. Peace, kindness and love to you.
O come, O come, Immanuel,
and ransom captive(s) Israel
that mourns in lonely exilehere
until the Son of God appear.
Refrain:
Rejoice! Rejoice! Immanuel
shall come to you, O Israel.
2 O come, O Wisdom from
on high,
who ordered all things mightily;
to us the path of knowledge show
and teachus in its ways to go.
Refrain
3 O come, O come, great Lord of might,
who to your tribes on Sinai’s height
in ancient times did give the law
in cloud and majesty and awe. Refrain
4 O come, O Branch of Jesse’s stem,
unto yourown and rescue them!
From depths of hell your people save,
and give them victory o’er the grave.
Refrain
5 O come, O Key of David, come and open wide ourheavenly home.
Make safe for us the heavenward road
and bar the way to death’s abode.
Refrain
6 O come, O Bright and Morning Star,
and bring uscomfort from afar!
Dispel the shadows of the night
and turn our darkness into light.
Refrain (to)
7 O come, O King of nations, bind
in one the hearts of all mankind.
Bid all our sad divisions cease (in)
and be yourself our King of Peace.
Refrain
