i dress myself in tears these days not for me, i weep for others orphaned children, childless mothers victims of cruelty and hate
justice denied for those who wait i feel their pain, those who suffer i dress myself in tears these days not for me, i weep for others
for every soul who’s led astray hope one day we can recover learn to care for one another with compassion, kindness and grace i dress myself in tears these days
~kat
Well I completely fell off the NaPoWriMo wagon this year! This poem is based on one of the prompts. I’ve been adding a line or two over the past week when i have the time. Along with my day job, I have been caring for a sick pup who requires a special home cooked diet (our other pups are on the diet as well to avoid food nabbing) and with two very large dogs (175lbs and 125lbs) and a small one (20lbs) I am cooking daily along with all the household chores, while my partner works a second part-time job to pay the medical bills for our Winston. we don’t know how long he will be with us but are doing what we can to make his life a good one. How could anyone say no to this face!
In case i didn’t mention it, this is a Rondel. Here are the rondel poetry form rules: 1. Poem consists of 13 lines in 3 stanzas 2. Rhyme scheme: ABba/abAB/abbaA (uppercase letters are refrains) 3. Usually 8 syllables per line
Settling slowly into the new place. It has been weird moving to a new community and church in the midst of the pandemic but we are well. I do hope that you are as well! ❤️
Happy to hear you are well. We moved right before Covid shut things down. Finding a new normal is very weird as you say but how fortunate your new community is to have you! ❤️
We have people tell us all the time, when they die they want to come back as one of our pets! Some nights they get their home cooked dinner and i settle for a bowl of cereal…Fruit Loops, my favorite. They are an apt description of my life! 🤣😂🤣
I am touched by your poem Kat it is beautiful. I love that you are both looking after those beautiful dogs and cats but worry that you are working too hard. Love to you both.
Can you tell me what is that yellow on Winston’s nose. Bless he’s a handsome boy! 💜💜
haha!!! The yellow on Winston’s nose is sweet potato! we go through 60 lbs of those a week! he was supervising me making him sweet potato jerky. it’s a treat he can have so i make a pound of it every week! We are exhausted, but it is what we must do for now while we have them. 💜❤️💜
Well Kat I am so glad it’s sweet potato and not a nasty sore! It is watch we do for our animals isn’t it. Our Labrador Ruby is suffering with Arthritis and we are devoting a lot of time and effort to easing her pain. But you too must look after yourselves too 💜💜💜

You are busy ladies, but you’re so right – the dogs must be given whatever they need!
