matin
i rise
to sun dappled treetops
to emerald eyes
to soft rhythmic purrs
to coffee-infused air
to cool sheets
to softness
to light
to love
what a miracle it is
to be granted another sunrise
to feel my lungs swell, to sigh
to know that i am clothed
in this moment, grounded
in its sweetness, charged
to greet this messy world
in the afterglow of glory…
may i be a blessing then
as i have been so richly blessed
i rise
to a new day
like every day before
and every day yet to come
if the fates are willing
to sun dappled treetops
to emerald eyes
to soft rhythmic purrs
to coffee-infused air
to cool sheets
to softness
to light
to love

Thanks Di. I haven’t had a lot of time to write these days, but this morning called for a pause. 🙂 Hope you are doing well.

Hope you’re settling in and your partner recovering well. We’re OK, just got this new ailment called ‘Spot-the-tourist-and-avoid’. LOL

Thank you Mother Nature! Haha! We had one of those flash storms too. My poor dogs hate it!

Maggie never liked thunder or fireworks, but with her impaired hearing now, she was fine! Not so with the smoke alarm the other night, but then that scared all of us!! Have a good day Kat

Thanks Peter…the gray fluffy is Sebastian (he will be 19 in September) and the white beauty is Matilda. We think a couple of years old.

19 is a venerable age for Sebastian. I remember the story of Matilda’s homecoming!

Yes. 19 is ancient for cats. Sebastian has a littermate, Merlin, who I’m afraid suffers a bit from kitty dementia. He gets lost behind doors sometimes and we need to rescue him. I know we are fortunate to have had them both for so long.
