A Limerick for the Seasons

My friend Rashmi at MindandLifeMatters gave us the prompt “Seasons” for this week’s Limerick Challenge. I have to say I spent alot of time chewing on this one. I have no trouble waxing poetic on the topic of Seasons in free verse…or even Haiku, but when it came to crafting a proper limerick…it had me stumped. Here’s my best attempt. A Limerick for the Seasons

Summertime sizzles and Autumn leaves fall,
Winter winds chill and Spring blooms enthrall,
Each season in order,
A year drawn in quarters,
Nature’s perfection inspires us all!

The Topic is Love

Rashmi from mindandlifematters has presented us this week with a sublime Limerick Challenge. The prompt: Love. And I think, what more could be written that has not already been penned on this topic? My Limerick then, borrows a touch from one of the greats…with a bit of my own words…I hope he doesn’t mind our collaboration! 🙂

In a million small ways, she inhabits his days
Her eyes, how they smile when he catches their gaze
There’s no doubt he was smitten
From the words he has written…
“How I love thee…let me count the ways!”

Gratitude Limerick

The shelter that fed folks for years
Was in need of a few volunteers
When a youth group got wind
Helpers came filing in
As a grateful community cheered!

Pride…A Limerick

She prided herself queen of style
as she sauntered her way up the aisle
with all eyes on her now
she turned round for a bow
and presented a spinach-laced smile!
