a stone’s throw
light
in the distance
where
civilization
blares, where night owls, insomniacs,
under
starless skies, curse the night
I see it clearly
the madness
here, amidst the trees

I always loved the dark night sky in Colorado. Even in our place in Georgia you could see the night sky with little light pollution.

I’ll never forget the night we did our walkthrough. It was so dark and the sky sparkling with stars. It confirmed to me we had made the right decision to downsize and to move away from the city into the country, and that we were home!
