the orange fool went mad
now he’s a tool for Vlad
~kat
A little photoshop fun for Jane Dougherty’s Daily Essence Poem Challenge Day 23. What can I say? I needed a bit of comic relief from the madness of Washington. The bad news is assaulting us with dizzying rapidity these days. And if you know me, I could not let the month pass without poking at least once at the Orange Fool in Chief. One can wax poetic about the weather only so much. I hope it has the intended smile from you that I’m hoping for. I had fun creating it. Peace and perseverance y’all. It will be over soon, one way or the other, hopefully with no casualties, save the reputations of the complicit. Fortunately, we still have term limits.

It great Kat, made me chuckle but there is so much truth in those two lines. I took the easy route and wrote about the dog..I did think of politicians but it was too bad..you have done a better job than I could of.💜💜💜

Thank you Willow. In truth I am very worried this week for our country. The latest new appointment of Bolton is not good news for the world. He is a dangerous hawk and the president seems emboldened to act with no thought of the long term ramifications of his self-serving decisions. That anyone still supports this administration confounds me.

The world is in a very dangerous position, with problems too numerous to mention. He seems determined to poke everyone, the Russians, the Chinese and North Korea! Someone needs to take his stick away. We are wheeling around with Brexit and Europe and the Russians putting the boot in. I have my fingers crossed for some good things to happen but I am not holding my breath. Thank goodness we can talk sense on our blogs💜

It seems that there is no end to the madness on either shore. Like you, I am not holding my breath. I am so grateful for this forum. You are right, we are all in good company here and that is a comfort.

You might not believe this, but American politics is just not a thing in Europe. Except when the orange idiot mouths off about foreign policy (which, I admit, is often) the antics of who has been sacked, who has resigned, who is in another sex scandal, just don’t make the news here. We deal with inept politicians too, but the scale is so different. Even your mass killings don’t grab the headlines and certainly the predictable sick-making reactions to them just make people flick the off switch.

I am happy to hear this actually Jane. It is embarrassing enough to live here in the madness, and small consolation to know that the world is not fed a daily diet of the absurdity here. Ignorance is bliss. 🙂

You are victims of your notion of freedom—no state involvement means violent, corrupt maniacs do what they like. And you seem to have an awful lot of maniacs over there.

You speak the truth Jane. Victims perhaps, but until we all take a good look at how we each have contributed to this skewed view of freedom, we will continue to spiral, I’m afraid. For me, keeping the peace through silence was complicity. I can be silent no more, no matter the cost. In truth, I have already paid a dear price, but there is no turning back. That is the freedom I embrace.

Good for you, Kat. It’s bound to come with a price tag because you’re making enemies. Reading the comments of Americans whenever there’s something that needs thoughts and prayers makes us realise just how different your world is to ours. The religious thing goes deep and so does the myth of the homesteader. It’s time to step into the real world for those people. I don’t imagine Mongolia is full of people yearning to get on a horse and massacre half the known world, or that the Scots want to paint themselves blue and take the war into the lowlands. Times change and there are more important things to get worked up about than spurious rights to own combat weapons. Why not get angry about the children and their families that are massacred by those same combat weapons that some scummy arms manufacturer seconded by some scummy politician has sold to the scummy military authorities kept in power by corrupt US foreign policy? Priorities need serious sorting methinks.

We certainly do Jane. If we are not outraged by the senseless slaughter of our children, racism, and the laundry list of other -isms that vex us, we are not paying attention. It infuriates me when people say thoughts and prayers. Or when religious zealots proclaim that the cure for all our ills is plastering the ten commandments on the walls of our schools or bringing god back. Any self-respecting god would not associate with the likes of those claiming to be christian…people of such great faith that they must have an arsenal of AR-15’s to feel safe! Ludicrous! Oh my…maybe I should have stuck with the weather today…;) NOT.
