The closet in my parents’ room was off limits.
My little sister and I decided to sneak a peak while they were outside. To our surprise, the closet was full of toys!
Of course we never let on. We’d heard children who stopped believing in Santa didn’t get toys on Christmas morning.

Thank You. Sorry, I was washing dishes. π with RETOURNE am I telling a story or am I just creating a scene? I do not fully understand this form. I have tried one, but I am still uncertain to the poetry’s purpose.

If you are referring to the ReVerse that I do on Sundayβs it is an exercise in streaming consciousness for me. I go back one week and lift a favorite line from each poem or story that I wrote and list those verses chronologically, forming a new poem. Itβs like a poem collage. The preface that I write comes after I have read and reread that new poem. Sometimes the combined lines make perfect sense and sometimes I have to think about it for a bit to figure out what my poetic voice was saying to me over the course of the previous week. One thing is certain. Those random lines from each day truly make me think. As I have mentioned on my post script, I use it to clean the slate, allowing me one last look back at the week that was before launching into the next. I hope that clarifies my process to you. The order then: I write a bit or two each day. On Sunday I go back to each post and lift a line from each, listing them chronologically, oldest to most recent, I read the resulting βnew poemβ a few times…then I write the βintroβ as a summarization of what the ReVerse poem is saying to me. Itβs my own little quirky practice. Of course it would be delightful to have you join along. Hugs and peace!
