“Oh I hate obnoxious people,”
the woman yelled,
just behind me
as I drank tea.

I thought,how ironic is that!’
Her loud chit-chat
filled the café,
drove guests away.

Such rudeness I could not endure.
I glared at her,
I had no choice,
“an indoor voice?!!!”

Spring Coup

Ribbons of golden sunlight splay
the shades of gray
as glooming clouds
descend like shrouds.

Her chilling kiss of icy mist
denies our bliss;
Chilled to the bone
we rush for home.

But though the day seems dark and cold
Winter grows old.
Her days are few.
Spring plans a coup!

Election Reflection

it’s not like words will change our minds
we’re wasting time
sharing more thoughts
our soul’s are bought

so as this fight comes to an end
to all lost friends
fanatical
collateral

let’s hope we can bridge the divide
once we decide
t’would be a sin
to let hate win
