Castle – Manic Monday Challenge

MMCastle16July18

sick of all this noise
of being open wide
they wanna make me break
no use crying about it
i’m their queen
sitting on the throne
i probably shouldn’t be

they’ve locked me up
i keep my pretty
mouth shut

Another Black Out poem for Manic Monday’s 3-Way Prompt based on the photo above, the prompt word, Castle and the song lyrics below, as performed by Halsey.

Castle

Performed by Halsey

Sick of all these people talking, sick of all this noise
Tired of all these cameras flashing, sick of being poised
Now my neck is
open wide, begging for a fist around it
Already choking on my pride, so
there’s no use crying about it

I’m headed straight for the castle
They wanna make me their queen
And there’s an old man sitting on the throne

That’s saying that I probably shouldn’t be so mean
I’m headed straight for the castle
They’ve got the kingdom locked up

And there’s an old man sitting on the throne
That’s saying I should probably keep my pretty mouth shut
Straight for the castle

Oh, all these minutes passing, sick of feeling used
If you wanna break these walls down, you’re gonna get bruised
Now my neck is open wide, begging for a fist around it
Already choking on my pride, so there’s no use crying about it

I’m headed straight for the castle
They wanna make me t
heir queen
And there’s an old man sitting on the throne
That’s saying that I probably shouldn’t be so mean
I’m headed straight for the castle
They’ve got the kingdom locked up
And there’s an old man sitting on the throne

That’s saying I should probably keep my pretty mouth shut
Straight for the castle

There’s no use crying about it
There’s no use crying about it
There’s no use crying about it
There’s no use crying about it

I’m headed straight for the castle
They wanna make me their queen
And there’s an old man sitting on the throne
That’s saying that I probably shouldn’t be so mean
I’m headed straight for the castle
They’ve got the kingdom locked up
And there’s an old man sitting on the throne
That’s saying I should probably keep my pretty mouth shut

Straight for the castle
They wanna make
me their queen
And there’s an old man sitting on the throne

That’s saying that I probably shouldn’t be so mean
I’m headed straight for the castle
They’ve got the kingdom locked up
And there’s an old man sitting on the throne
That’s saying I should probably keep my pretty mouth shut

Straight for the castle

Poison – Manic Monday Challenge

Poison

you know i want to
poison your dreams
the same as you
but i hold back
i can heal
i have a choice
i choose love
always will
always will
always will

~kat

Another Manic Monday 3-Way Prompt Black Out Poem inspired by the prompt word: POISON, the photo above and the song Poison and Wine by The Civil Wars (Lyrics with blacked out (lined out) text below).

Poison & Wine

You only know what I want to
I know everything you don’t want me to
Oh your mouth is poison, your mouth is wine
You think your dreams are the same as mine
Oh I don’t love you but I always will
Oh I don’t love you but I always will
Oh I don’t love you but I always will
I always will

I wish you’d hold me when I turn my back
The less I give the more I get back
Oh your hands can heal, your hands can bruise
I don’t have a choice but I‘d still choose you

Oh I don’t love you but I always will
Oh I don’t love you but I always will
Oh I don’t love you but I always will
Oh I don’t love you but I always will
Oh I don’t love you but I always will
Oh I don’t love you but I always will
Oh I don’t love you but I always will

I always will
I always will
I always will
I always will
I always will

Wings – Manic Mondays Prompt

I found a new challenge that intrigued me at Cee’s Writing Challenges list. It’s called Manic Monday’s Prompt. Our host gives us a picture and a song to play with. I thought it would be fun to do a “black out” poem using the words of the song and then paste it on the photo. So here’s my take. Thank you Laura at All the Shoes I Wear for this awesome prompt!

Challenge: Write something in any genre inspired by the picture (you see below) and the song Change by the Deftones. (I’ve posted the blacked out lyrics below).

Wings

i watched you
fly away
on wings
so alive…
then i laughed
now, i had wings…
ahah…
look away
i never had wings
so alive
i have watched you
i never had wings

~kat

Change
Deftones

I watched you change
Into a fly
I looked away
You’re on fire
I watched a change in you
It’s like you never had wings
And you feel so alive
I have watched you change

I took you home
Set you on the glass
I pulled off your wings
Then I laughed
I watched a change in you
It’s like you never had wings
Now you feel so alive
I have watched you change
It’s like you never had wings
Anh, ahah
Anh, ahah
Anh, ahah
Anh, ahah
Anh, ahah

I look at the cross
And I look away
Give you the gun
Blow me away
I watched a change in you
It’s like you never had wings
Now you feel so alive
I have watched you change
And you feel alive
You feel alive
You feel alive
I have watched you change
It’s like you never had wings

Anh, ahah
Anh, ahah
Anh, ahah
Anh, ahah
Anh, ahah
You change
You change
You change
