I loved the tales this week! Your twittering tales were so fun…and some were poignant and inspiring! There were some really heart-wrenching, lovely tales, some funny “oops” moments, a few creepy stories and I learned about pet tattoos too. I posted a few of the photos that were included. Be sure to check out everyone’s page though. You all are awesome writers. Thank you all so much for joining the challenge last week.

This week, I picked a close-up of a microscope. What is the story of the person at the other end of the eyepiece lens? What is staring back at them from the slide? Does the microscope itself have a story? There are several possibilities for this random photo. I hope you have fun with this prompt. See you next week at the Round-Up.

Thank you everyone for joining the challenge last week. I loved your spooky, funny, thoughtful tales. There were a few longer stories inspired by the photo as well. I have linked them here so you can hop over for a read.

For this week’s challenge, I headed over to pixabay and found this interesting photo by favoritesunfl. I decided to get a tattoo when I turned 50. Thankfully, I still love it. But I know there are stories of people with tattoo remorse. The reasons people get tattoos are many. Some, for sentimental or romantic reasons, some to remember a lost loved one, some just for the fun of it or as a rite of passage…and there are some who have many and just can’t get enough. So tell me a tale about a tattoo. Remember 140 characters or less. And one more thing…Have Fun! See you next week at the Round Up. 🙂

What a great variety of twittering tales we had this week! Twisted nursery rhymes, several music-inspired offerings, accidents, ghosts, zombies, nightmares, and on the other end of the spectrum, inspiration, romance, portraits in human nature and a reference to Mother Nature herself! Thank you so much for playing along this week!

A side note about the challenge and the Round-up. For space’s sake, I re-post everyone’s twitter-sized tale in full each week, but some of you are inspired by the photo, expanding your offering into a longer piece (longer than 140 characters). I love reading your poetry and prose and will post a link here so everyone else can read it too. So if your pen urges you to write on, please follow your muse. The most important thing is that you are writing and having fun!

Now, I must admit some of your darker tales inspired me. For this week’s prompt I’ve rustled up a photo I took while visiting Savannah, GA. Savannah’s popular attractions include a variety of “Haunted Savannah” tours. Of course, I had to check it out! It was great fun, and I believe I might have captured a few other-worldly spirits with my camera. Along the tour we passed by “The Marshall House“. Today it is a luxury hotel with well-appointed rooms, but during the Civil War it was used as a hospital. In fact, during its renovation, human remains were found in the basement. The Marshall House is said to be the most haunted hotel in the United States. Ghost sightings, poltergeist activity, rattling doors and strange sounds are among the amenities of this historic place, along with complimentary wine and cheese in the library, free wi-fi, the use of two robes, private-label toiletries and bottled water for guests during their stay. Your typical 4-star hotel. But would you, if you could, stay a night here? Many people do…and they have stories to tell! See if you can conjure up a story of your own. And I’ll see you next week at the roundup! Have fun!

“Where’s Sophie?! Oh god!”
“It won’t hold you Sue. See if she’ll come back to you.”
“Come to mommy Sophie. Come…”
“Sophie…no!”

“Got her!”

NICE! Everyone. Your imaginations really spanned a reach of possibilities. Just as I had imagined, some of you were quite retrospective in your takes. Those are always so interesting. And then there was a host of fun tales where more than a few ended up in the drink. There were adventurers and critters and sibling rivals. Bravo! I loved every single character of your 140 character tales. Thank you again and again for joining me each week to have a go at the challenge. I’m hearing that tweeting is still all the rage these days. We are on the cutting edge no doubt. 😉

On to this week’s challenge. I found this interesting closeup of a vinyl record. You know, these are making a comeback. I remember when cassettes evolved into 8 tracks and then CDs came out. It was the CDs that blew us away. The sound was so crisp and clear. Of course, now we have digital. Nary a blip of noise to adulterate the pure sound of a recording. But there is something special about the scratchy background drone and skipping pops of a vinyl record. The sound of the needle when it first touches the surface; that dull, crescendoing popping noise. It is mesmerizing, almost magical.

Your challenge this week is to write something about this scene. Is it a noir mystery…or a romantic interlude…or a nostalgic memory…or a philosophical reflection? I know you all will come up with something special. Can’t wait to see you all next week at the Round-up.

Well well! A very creative bunch you are! I admit, last week’s photo was a bit bananas! Thanks for giving it a go.

Decided to mellow it out this week. Found this great photo at Pexels.com by photographer, Tyler Hendy. First official day of summer comes along this week. Nothing like sitting outside at your favorite place enjoying the long nights over a coffee or tea or something a bit more spirited. 😊 Anyhoo, hope you’ll tell me a story about this scene. Romance, intrigue, mystery, drama, or thriller? Oh my! The possibilities are endless! Have fun!
