The Inn Keepers

The last tourists boarded the ferry to the mainland. As it pulled away from the harbor, John glanced at his wife Betty.

“Are you gonna miss all this?”

She smiled at him sweetly, “Oh John, I’m sure we’ll both be wondering what to do with ourselves. But I’m so excited. I’m going upstairs to pack.”

John checked the windows and door locks. The new inn keepers would be here soon. He paused for a moment in the parlor, remembering conversations with past guests…tales of travel and exotic destinations.

It would be their turn now. First stop, London.

Full Moon in Gemini

So…I haven’t done this in a while…posted a digitally enhanced photo of the full moon. In part, because it has been RAINING on those nights for the past several months. But this month, the sky is gloriously clear!

This month’s full moon is in Gemini! I have read that it is a good time to look back at where we’ve come from and release what we need to finally let go of, in anticipation of change to come. With winter and the Solstice coming, we’ll have plenty of time to simmer and grow into the new things coming our way.

As I was playing around with the photo I took, I found a mosaic feature on my little phone editing app. It perfectly represents to me the diamond that waits just under the surface. It’s time to shine.

And my geek friends will also be intrigued that the graphic took the form of a fibonacci sequence…how SERENDIPITOUS!!! 🙂 (If you know me, you know how much l love that word!)

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow U.S. wordpressers then. Perfect time to look around the table of your heart, count your blessings and look forward to the next year! Peace to you! 🙂

Mindandlifematters presented us with a timely challenge word this week: Gratitude.

This is a time of thankfulness for the blessings in our lives here in the US. The best blessings though, come not from what we have, but when we give. To read more or participate, click HERE.

Thankful Giving

The shelter that fed folks for years
Was in need of a few volunteers
When a youth group got wind
Helpers came filing in
As a grateful community cheered!

A Two Sentence Story Challenge from CS Wilde. Read more or play along HERE.

“I don’t see why moving that old couch can’t wait until after the game!” John grumbled as he opened the door to the den.

The rousing “Surprise!” gave him his answer.
