Broken

Some have said that we should get along
Smile in acquiescence to their rants
Give their vain ideologues a chance
After all, we lost and their side won.

But every backward step just feels wrong,
Spinning truth alternatives advance;
Some have said that we should get along
Smile in acquiescence to their rants.

Loyalty is tested to belong
We must follow like blind sycophants
Any soul who dares a counter-stance
Faces rage, as battle lines are drawn
Some have said that we should get along.

Valkyrie

Riddaren_rider_by_John_Bauer_1914

she paints the cobalt sky with light
a gift of stars for wanderers
bright hope for weary travelers
to guide them through the dark of night

to help them set their course aright
to lead them on a path secure
she paints the cobalt sky with light
a gift of stars for wanderers

soaring on the wind she takes flight
to rise up to Valhalla’s shore
to lead brave heroes slain in war
to their reward for well-fought fights
she paints the cobalt sky with light.
