May Day 10

just a number

to
measure
life only
in years denies
the true value of a life fully lived

May Day 9

Being silly today. It was one of those crazy days! 🤪

don’t just stand there

if
you can
then you should
or at least try
‘cause you could be the only one who would

May Day 8

in the fog

things
are not
what they seem
but memories
inform our steps to guide us through the haze

Catching Up With the Muse

allisfutile

all is futile

the mind
sometimes
breaks, but
bone and flesh
search for more;
all are trapped
by fate,
nothing else

~kat

A Blackout poem inspired by this amazing poem by Charles Bukowski, “Alone With Everybody”:

Alone With Everybody
by Charles Bukowski

the flesh covers the bone
and they put a mind
in there and
sometimes a soul,
and the women break (s)
vases against the walls
and the men drink too
much
and nobody finds the
one
but keep
looking
crawling in and out
of beds.
flesh covers
the bone and the
flesh searches
for more than
flesh.

there’s no chance
at all:
we are all trapped
by
a singular
fate.

nobody ever finds
the one.

the city dumps fill
the junkyards fill
the madhouses fill
the hospitals fill
the graveyards fill

nothing else
fills.

May Day 7

eternity

it’s
a great
mystery…
eternity’s
not a destination, it’s a circle
