day 137 – Time for Another ReVerse

day 137 – Time for Another ReVerse

the trees stood bare on the hills
spring fawns on the way
death stopped by to fetch a soul
to rest in the ancient knowing
how is it possible to miss someone
when today feels lost
their voices soft on the breeze
clearly under great duress,
it’s not over yet, so live
we were intrepid passengers
and you will see…I am a universe
may I learn to be a sparrow
under the weight of loathing
the quiet murmur
a moth perched under the eaves
something is amiss these days
I whispered a wish
when the sun returns
shadows stretch softly
who can sleep?
“great” depends on who you ask

Today’s Glimmer…we celebrated the 1st birthday of my great-granddaughter Rory. 🙂

A ReVerse poem (a practice I started many years ago) is a summary poem with a single line lifted from each entry of a collection of work over a particular timeframe and re-penned in chronological order as a new poem. Unlike a collaborative poem, the ReVerse features the words of one writer, providing a glimpse into their thoughts over time. I use it here as a review of the past several weeks.
